Adventuresontoast New York Pt 5: Eat

Howdy Toasters, NY without Pizza would be like Bert without Ernie so within moments of putting my bags down incredible pizza from Brooklyn’s Speedy Romeo was in one hand while the other tickled a Mimosa.. just for fun… that’s my kind start to a NY Summer. Street meat trucks, carts and grills, pretzel pushers, dodgy diners, silver service, DIY, easy eats and home delivered sashimi, when it comes to food, and just about everything else, New York simmers with every taste you can imagine… I stalked the dumpling truck like a Yenta at a wedding, cured my schvitzing with Vermont … Continue reading Adventuresontoast New York Pt 5: Eat

the artist – enlightened

Howdy Toasters, The artist is a fictional character, here he previews his latest work and discusses his inspiration. I’d been planning a new work for sometime but just wasn’t connected to any of my projects and nothing i was creating was worthy of evolving into major works. I was tired, angry with my lack of creativity, hallucinogenicly sleep deprived & high from a days long banquet of illicitness, believing I’d finally exhausted my talent, in that melodramatic way you do, and needing some light to dawn in the chasm i was staring down when I saw the lamp glowing in … Continue reading the artist – enlightened

642: 3 The first time i killed a man

Howdy Toasters! it’s creative writing time…. The topic “Write a scene that begins It was the first time i killed a man” and i’ve managed to unsettle myself with this one. Just before bed too…   It was the first time I killed a man… Looking back I was so unprepared, so amateur, so… unpracticed. I made a hell of a mess that night. It was on the news the next day. To be honest I thought they’d show more of the scene, I was real sore they didn’t. All that work, all my work and all they did was … Continue reading 642: 3 The first time i killed a man

Six Flags Amusement Park, New Orleans

Retronaut is one of my favourite sites. It explores the past, the obscure, the unusual, the abandoned, the quirky and the forgotten and is a fascinating place to explore. http://www.retronaut.co/

It’s like traversing time, space and parallel universes (without even needing a Tardis)

Being a fan of amusements parks (which i never get to) and photography with an edge, i love this this slighty creepy set from the now closed and abandoned Six Flags in New Orleans.

Going Up [1 of 30] In early March, I challenged myself to photograph a jump a day for thirty days. I made my challenge public to anyone who would listen and even did some brainstorming with others about possible jump locations. After a clearing up of the weather that conveniently coincided with a much needed haircut in mid-March, I was ready to begin my project. I’ve done two jump photographs prior to this series: one at Formosa Boulevard Station in Kaohsiung and one in front of some plum blossoms in Fengguidou. I also… Continue reading
