642:6 Judgey Gemma

Howdy Toasters, 642 challenge time… what a wonderful way to procrastinate about studying. I used to have a gorgeous, white, long haired, deaf cat, Gemma, who I’m sure spent her life judging me and my behaviours ( and I’m just sure hated me for a while after I moved in with a friend and his pet rabbit) so this one just jumped off the page at me. 642 Topic: You are a loser who lives alone with a cat and have done for quite some time. One day your cat can’t take it any more and starts talking. What does … Continue reading 642:6 Judgey Gemma

The IRL Fetish

Howdy Toasters, We live in a truly digital age where you can do pretty much anything from anywhere, anytime and share what you’re doing with anyone who’s watching….. all thanks to the technology that’s integrated into our lives. There’s a debate going around that we spend too much time online and not enough in real life ( or IRL). This is a view i’ve never agreed with because i think the technology we use, how we use and how it’s integrated into everything we do is the modern real life. Today on Good Magazine i discovered an article, featured as … Continue reading The IRL Fetish

The grass

Howdy Toasters, (getting all post break up poeticy… ) I was sitting on the hill on my little patch of grass…. It was dry, wilted, burnt and browning. You could tell it needed tending just by looking. But it wasn’t just mine, it was ours. To be honest I knew it needed care, not that you could tell. A green thumb isn’t something I possessed and rather than learn to garden, find a fertilizer, buy a garden zombie to add some life (or gnome as normal people might ) or just  simply water the dying patch that surrounded me I … Continue reading The grass

A Toast to Totes!

Howdy Toasters, Holla and cheer for the word of the day it’s totes time to shine, champagne shower, read away. There’s a word of the day that I use far too much It’s totes becoming a bit of a crutch It’s a word that portrays something huge in it’s meaning And said with some modern day tweaks intervening Fit for all purpose and easy to say Resistance is futile, embrace it okay Feeling befuddled, not sure what to do? I know how you feel, that’s totes fuds to you Drunk and disgraceful and lighting your fuse? That’s not how you … Continue reading A Toast to Totes!

642:5 Waking Up Elsewhere

Howdy Toasters, So a warning before you proceed. This adventure from the pages of 642 is suitable for 18+ & those who can handle a little bit of filth. 642: 5 Waking up elsewhere urgh…. strange, strange sounds Fuck my head hurts squeaking, squelching, slapping?..wait that’s getting more, more… aahh I can’t think….. like slapping but harder. No More “No”

Howdy Toasters, So apparently I say No a lot, so much so that I’m sure I could’ve auditioned for the role of Dr No. This is something I didn’t realize until very recently… and until it was too late to not say no any more I never thought I was or would ever become a big no sayer but it seems to have crept up on me and I gotta say I don’t like it, it doesn’t feel like me. I can only think that fear, anxiety, stubbornness and selfishness led me to my extensive but far from proud (actually … Continue reading No More “No”

Muto by Blu , Graffiti on the move

Howdy Toasters, This is one of my favourite pieces of graffiti art.. Well actually it’s more than graffiti, watch and see for yourself. “Muto,” is a short film by Italian street artist Blu that brings his graffiti artwork to life. Blu paints his otherwordly creations on buildings and other public spaces, before animating them using stop motion techniques. Watch as Blu’s wild menagerie of characters morph and creep across buildings in Buenos Aires. For more Blu visit http://blublu.org/ Break out the Butter, i’ll be back real soon   Continue reading Muto by Blu , Graffiti on the move

if you’re not born with it just buy it

Howdy Toasters, An interesting question was raised today with a couple of the weight watchers I work with. Over the weekend I met Vernesa and Sophie , a couple of the new reality stars of the Aussie show The Shire, (for those outside of Oz it’s our answer to Jersey and Geordie Shore). You may not know who they are but just roll with me here, I’ll get to the point. (oh and watch the promo at the bottom of the page) Watching the show, out of everyone I was fascinated and a little excited by these two. Unashamedly enhanced … Continue reading if you’re not born with it just buy it

Get your Arty on : 18th Bienale of Sydney

Howdy Toasters! Melbourne has always had the creative and cultural lead over Sydney (I’m sure that will create some uproarious paint splashing that Jackson Pollock would probably put to canvas and exhibit… but it’s just true) but when it’s festival time Sydney can bring it like a cheerleader to finals. The 18th Bienale of Sydney is currently in full swing and the Silver Ferret & I ferried ourselves over to Cockatoo Island to get our arty on. There are some beautiful pieces like Tiffany Singh’s Knock on the Sky, Listen to the Wind. An open air room filled with wind … Continue reading Get your Arty on : 18th Bienale of Sydney
