Living wild and looking fresh

It’s been pointed out to me by a few people lately that sometimes, it feels like I’m everywhere – I guess living the gogo dancing, mental health advocate, model, speaker, all around town and all round social media showoff life does leave me popping up in the strangest places. It’s true and even I feel overexposed sometimes, but it’s all fun and fabulous…until the sleep depravation starts kicking in. If you’re anything like me you find yourself accidentally using your toothpaste as hair wax, the baggage under your eyes starts looking more carry on than care free and something that looks like a drunken meerkat stares back at you from the mirror.

Sleep might be something I’m short on, but that doesn’t mean I have to look like it, so I put Aussie men’s skin care brand Black Leopard to the ultimate lifestyle test, me. They tell me their range has been developed to care from Work2Play, and their range may not be tested on animals but I work, play and party like one, so let’s see if they live up to the promise as I try the 3 product Face Pack.

10 days in to using Black Leopard and it’s the morning after a 3am stumble in the door. I’m in my (blurry) morning shower and reach for step 1 of the pack, Black Leopard’s Hydrating Face Scrub. Hints of bergamot, lime, tangerine and macadamia give this scrub a distinct masculine, refreshing presence. Made from black rice it’s also a little softer on the skin than some other scrubs, but still washes away the dancefloor and vodka buzz. The unique scent lingers nicely – the scent of men really is a great way to wake up.

I feel fresher, but my mirror laughed at me when I asked “who’s the fairest of them all”, so let’s see what magic the Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream can do. The cream is a little oilier than what I’m used to but it’s absorbed easily and does leave my eyes feeling nourished, so I feel better for it.

I’m not expecting my wrinkles to disappear but after using the eye cream for a couple of weeks my skin does feel softer and healthier.. and it’s clearly the antidote to my lifestyle because the mirror has stopped laughing at me when I ask that magic question, so I’ll take that as a win for the #modellife

The Anti-Shine Mosituriser is my stand out favourite of the three products. Firstly it smells like a day spa so I’m taken back to memories of facials and that hot massage therapist ( um, I mean massages) every time I apply it. Like the eye cream it’s a little heavier than I’m used to but is absorbed quickly, so this isn’t an issue for me at all. The day spa scent also lingers slightly, which I find relaxing and calming as I rush to get ready.

The Black Leopard range feels like it lasts and nourishes all day, which is impressive considering the test conditions of my Work2Play lifestyle – those days that start with a 9am meeting and end somewhere between being shirtless on a podium at 2am, or trying to work out where to call Uber to while looking for my underwear at sunrise. Even under extreme conditions, like the madness of Mardi Gras, I maintained that morning fresh from 8 hours sleep glow – even if 8 in the morning was the time I stumbled home.

Not only do I look fresh af but, thanks to the unique masculine scent of the Black Leopard range, even in heels I’m rocking that #masc vibe ( there’s a first time for everything I guess).

Black Leopard is a skin care range developed exclusively for men who want the best, by men who understand. With its sleek packaging and bespoke scents, the father and son team behind the brand balance masculinity and beauty perfectly, creating a sleek, unique and effective skin care regime.
